Annual Fishing Derby
The Annual Fishing Derby at Sun Lakes is one of our most popular events! Anglers of all ages and skill levels come together for a day of fun and prizes. Open to the public and resort guests.
Event Details
- When: Saturday, May 9, 2026
- Registration: 8AM to 10AM
- Weigh-In: Must be in line by noon (12PM)
- Awards: Between 1PM and 2PM
- Where: Park Lake Map It

- Entry Fee: $10 Adults, $5 Kids, 6 and under free

What to Know
- Registration
Sign up at the event tent on the morning of the event or pre-register at the resort office
- Fishing License
A valid Washington state fishing license is required for all participants 15 years of age or older
- Weigh-In
Bring your fish to the event tent for weigh-in by 12PM
- Charity Drawing
Drawing tickets available during the derby benefitting the American Cancer Society
Awards
- Prizes for heaviest fish in each age group
- Prizes for heaviest stringer in each age group
- Four age groups (6 and under, 7-12, 13-17, Adult)
- First, second, and third place in each category
- 24 prizes awarded in total
- Goodie bags provided to all kids!
